Carlton Reid to talk at one of America’s most cutting-edge bike shops

BikeBiz executive editor Carlton Reid is to give a talk at one of American’s leading bike shops, Velo Cult in Portland, Oregon. The talk – on Sunday 28th June – will be about his best-selling book Roads Were Not Built For Cars, published by Island Press of the US.

Before that he will be presenting at an event in Salt Lake City this Saturday, and organised by Cycling Utah. The talks are part of Reid’s "world tour" – he has already spoken at the Houses of Parliament, in front of the Congressional Bike Caucus in Washington, D.C., and he also gave a plenary talk about his book at the Velo-city conference in Nantes, France. On Tuesday Reid gave a talk in Edinburgh Bicycle as part of the Edinburgh Festival of Cycling.

He has also been booked by cycling campaign groups to speak in Cardiff, Leeds, Canterbury and Oxford.

At the Cycle Show in Birmingham on 23rd September Reid will be the presenter for the eighth annual BikeBiz awards – he has promised not to talk about his book, even one little bit.
