German online-only bike brand Canyon has released details of a new kids’ range.
A statement from the Koblenz-based brand says the three mountain bikes have the same "levels of technical refinement and advanced features" as found on Canyon’s adult bikes, combining "sharp design with elements that boost a child’s control, comfort and confidence so they can have the best time out riding."
The Canyon Kids’ range is made up of three models for children aged three and up, starting with the Offspring AL 16, progressing to the Offspring AL 20 and topping out with the Grand Canyon AL 24. The bikes feature hydraulic disc brakes and thru-axles. The Offspring AL 16 has 2-speed SRAM Automatix hub shifting; the Offspring AL 20 and Grand Canyon AL 24 both feature 1×9 SRAM X4.
The Offspring AL 16 has a larger 18’’ front wheel to aid momentum so it’s said small riders can "roll more smoothly over rough surfaces."
The retail prices – excluding shipping – are Offspring AL 16: £449; Offspring AL 20: £599; and Grand Canyon AL 24: £699.
Canyon started life as Radsport Arnold bike shop in Koblenz in 1985.
