Kent International of New Jersey is to produce Cadillac Bicycles for supply through the US IBD channel. Kent Bicycles are more usually available in big box outlets such as Walmart and Toys R Us. The press release announcing the move says: "Consumer Demand Drives Well-Known Automobile Brand to “Brake” Into the Bicycle Industry." Cadillac last lent its name to bicycles in the 1950s.

Cadillac licences brand name to US bike company

Billed as the "ultimate expression on two wheels", Kent International will market six Cadillac-branded bicycles.

There will be "two adventure-sport models emphasizing comfort, one All-Road multi-use trail bike, one mountain bicycle inspired by its Escalade SUV and a performance Road bicycle modeled after its CTS-V sports sedan."

Ron Lippner, general manager of Cadillac Bicycles, said:

“Cadillac Bicycles will be the benchmark for all bicycles with its advanced characteristics. We are committed to providing the consumer that values quality, style and performance with the ultimate riding experience. In a world where brand names often go unrecognized by many, we believe Cadillac Bicycles will stand out in a league of its own.”

A statement from Kent International said Cadillac Bicycles will be available in "independent, specialty bike shops for $500 to $1900."
