Bangkok, Thailand is the latest city to get its own Brompton Junction store.
Opening last week, the Bangkok shop is the eighth of its kind. The Brompton Junction concept is based on carefully designed retail spaces, offering a personalised service, and showcasing bikes with the many colours and specification finishes possible. Each Brompton Junction worldwide offers specialist workshop and servicing facilities with a dedicated team of Brompton experts on hand to assist customers old and new.
The other Brompton Junction stores can be found in Milan, London, Shanghai, Beijing, Kobe, Hamburg and Amsterdam.
It will also be home to the early Brompton with the frame number 027, one of the first 400 Bromptons ever made in the early 1980s during the first run of production.
Brompton Bicycle MD William Butler-Adams was at the opening. He said: “At Brompton we are obsessed about our bike, about how it can make life in cities more fun, healthy and efficient.
"The challenges of getting about in a city, not being frustrated in traffic or squashed in the tube are as relevant in London and Tokyo as they are in Hong Kong and New York. Bangkok shares those challenges and the Brompton is part of the solution, so to be able to open our eighth Brompton Junction store in Bangkok where we can show the value of our British folding bike and explain to customers how to integrate the Brompton into their lives is very exciting. I also loved flying around Lumpini Park on my Brompton!”
The firm added: "Cycling is on an upward trend in Thailand. To beat the well-known Bangkok traffic jams, more Thais have taken up cycling on the road to get to work and other places in a shorter time, in addition to recreational cycling for a healthier lifestyle. Many Thais these days also drive to scenic areas with folded bikes in the car boot, escaping the city during weekends to cycle with friends and family."
