Brompton reaches agreement with Batavus over design clash

Brompton Bicycle and Batavus have held discussions about the similarity of styling of their folding bikes, in order both to prevent misunderstanding with their customers and to bring to an end a dispute on this matter.

The discussions have been amicable: both parties now agree that their products should be different, and, to resolve the issue, Batavus is introducing new styling for the folding bikes in their 2005 model range.

Brompton Bicycle en Batavus hebben besprekingen gevoerd over de gelijkenis in vormgeving van hun vouwfietsen, dit zowel ter voorkoming van misverstanden onder hun vakhandelaren, als om het geschil aangaande deze zaak tot een eind te brengen.

De besprekingen zijn vriendschappelijk gevoerd: beide partijen zijn overeengekomen dat hun producten onderscheidend moeten zijn, en om het probleem op te lossen zal Batavus een nieuwe vormgeving voor vouwfietsen introduceren in haar modellenreeks voor 2005.

Les discussions ont été amiables : l’ensemble des parties marque dorénavant leur accord quant au fait que leurs produits doivent être différents, et pour résoudre ce problème, Batavus introduit un nouveau design pour ses vélos pliables dès sa collection 2005
