Moots and Swiftwick socks are the latest brands to sign on for CrankTank’s Impact Media Summit, due to be staged 26th-27th June in Sun Valley, Idaho.
The titanium brand from Steamboat Springs, Colorado unveiled a prototype softail gravel bike at NAHBS earlier in the year and Moots’ principals hope to have updated prototypes ready to ride alongside other bikes ideally suited for enjoying Sun Valley’s gravel roads and singletrack.
Swiftwick is a maker of high-performance socks from Brentwood, Tennessee. The company has mountain biking roots.
CrankTank has also announced it has partnered with bike trip outfitter Western Spirit to provide guiding services and logistical support for scheduled press rides, Western Spirit is also the organiser of the Outerbike consumer mountain bike demo series.
Additionally, Impact has organised a People for Bikes Draft Meetup at Impact. Veteran MTB journalist Zapata Espinoza will MC the event, introducing panelists and mediating discussions. Rebecca Rusch, well known endurance cyclist and host of Rebecca’s Private Idaho, will offer her insights into the rise of gravel bike riding.
“We created Impact to serve a greater purpose beyond introducing product. We want it to be impactful to the bicycle business at large,” said CrankTank vice president Adrian Montgomery.
“Bringing retailers, land managers and bike advocates all together at a Draft Meetup with the media and brands we will have in Sun Valley create a rallying point for cycling in the local community. We have two awesome topics on-deck for the panel; the rise of gravel cycling and use cases for e-MTB. This inaugural Impact event looks to be exciting and we can’t wait to show the bike industry the full experience here in Idaho this summer.”
