Bosch eBike Systems has announced that it is strengthening its position in the service business following the acquisition of MAGURA Bosch Parts & Services (MBPS).

Bosch says, with a network of over 30,000 specialist dealers in Europe, MBPS specialises in the service and sale of components for bicycles and eBikes. Previously, Bosch eBike Systems held a 50 per cent stake in MBPS as part of a joint venture with Gustav Magenwirth GmbH & Co. KG (MAGURA).

Bosch eBike Systems strengthens its position in the service sector with the

The release states that MBPS has seen its business in service and aftermarket products for eBikes develop very positively in recent years. The acquisition of MBPS is the logical next step for Bosch eBike Systems in continuing to strategically expand its eBike service offering in Europe.“Excellent service and close contact with specialist dealers are crucial to the success of Bosch eBike Systems. We are now investing further in this foundation. With the acquisition of MBPS, we are ideally positioned to respond rapidly to diverse market requirements and at the same time strengthen our service business in Europe in the long term,” says Armin Harttig, Head of Sales and Service at Bosch eBike Systems.

With the sale of its MBPS stake, MAGURA will continue to focus on its core business.

As part of the transaction, it was agreed that MBPS will continue to provide service and replacement parts distribution for MAGURA products.

MBPS will continue to specialise in service and replacement parts distribution for Bosch eBike Systems and MAGURA products, as well as products and offerings from other premium brands in the bicycle industry. The company will operate as an independent, wholly owned Bosch subsidiary. The company’s headquarters and its workforce of around 170 people will remain in Nürtingen, Germany. The acquisition is subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
