Big Bear Sports has upped its cycling industry presence by taking on a selection of premium brands for 2009, including CicloSport, FRM, Pearl, POC Wheels and POW.
The firm has previously distributed sport and outdoor products for over two decades in the UK, but the new brands mark a more significant footing in the sector for the firm.
Big Bear Sports MD Mitch Terleckyj said: “In difficult financial times, quality brands will prevail, which is why we feel it is important to continuously supply our retailers with premium high quality products that resonate with today’s consumer.
“We are extremely excited to extend our cycling portfolio with such a range of high quality brands which offer not only innovation and product quality but also have a background and brand story that stands out in a crowded marketplace and will allow our retailers to compete in difficult market conditions.”
Big Bear Sports will be bringing bike computer manufacturer CicloSport’s innovative products to the trade. FRM’s Italian-manufactured lightweight components will also be brought to retail by Big Bear, featuring product designed for road and MTB bicycles.
The distributor has also bagged Hamburg-founded Pearl Cycles’ MTB, cyclecross, triathlon and road cycles, boasting Italian manufacturing and custom colour options.
Swedish firm POC Wheels is new to the cycling market, having specialised in ski personal protection equipment. Finally, POW completes the selection of brands new to Big Bear Sports. The action sport glove brand combines fashionable design with functional performance.
