Century-old Spanish bicycle brand BH has upped the number of electric bikes it is producing for 2013.
From a modest three last year, BH is now offering 12 e-bikes, covering a wealth of bike genres, from folding frames to road bikes and 29ers.
The BH Emotion range offers five levels of electric assistance and the new range includes Bosch and Panasonic options, with many frames sporting integrated batteries.
“Last year we had three electric bikes aimed at the city markets, the Neo City, Cross and Xtreme,” BH marketing manager Maria E Fernandez de Gobeo told BikeBiz. “They were mostly aimed at the city, but we’ve increased that to 12 bikes – a big jump in just one year. It’s been a great success.
“There are battery options that will cover 90km, dual suspension e-bikes, folding and road frames – all using BH proprietary systems.”
BH has introduced an innovative ‘where’s my bike’ tracker and the e-bike display and computer can be easily disconnected from the e-bike to increase security. The bikes are lighter than last year’s and are competitively priced, according to Fernandez de Gobeo.
Last year’s Neo range picked up a Eurobike Award.
