Ben Evans joins Paligap in the role of Stans No Tubes brand manager

Ben Evans has joined Paligap in the role of Stans No Tubes Brand Manager.

Ben’s career in the bike industry includes time spent as a World Cup mechanic for the Unior Tools team, as co-owner of holiday company RoostMTB and most recently, as an Area Sales Manager for Fox Head Europe.

Ben brings with him expert knowledge of the UK mountain bike scene and experience of working with dealers to create in-depth knowledge of brands, leading to growth in sales.

The role will see Evans based at Paligap HQ in Bristol with plenty of time on the road meeting dealers and providing training and education. Ben will train Paligap’s dealer network in tubeless technology and the potential sales opportunities that Stans No tubes wheels and sealants present.

This appointment is the latest in a period of growth for Paligap. The business restructured in 2015 and brought on Ben Simmons to manage the Alé brand, John Oldale to manage Marin and Jack Edwards to manage some key P&A brands and Cipollini. 2016 saw Jamie Edwards join Paligap as Marketing Manager and Steph Waters as Account Manager Coordinator. A new B2B website manager is due to join in August to build the distributor’s online presence.

Paligap owner Dave Lane told us “We’re committed to filling Paligap with great people that are passionate about cycling and about our products. Ben has a strong background with extremely varied experience and is a great rider himself, he’ll be a great fit for the team and for Stans No Tubes. We’re excited to work with him and to expand the support that we can offer to our Stans No Tubes dealers.

The brand recruited Evans by putting an advertisement for the role on the BikeBiz website, speaking about the process, marketing manager Jamie Edwards said: “Thanks Bike Biz – your ad for our new Brand Manager went far and wide and produced a really strong response. We were spoilt for choice for great applicants and were able to get an experienced and talented new Manager into post”.

Paligap, based in Yate, is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year and distributes brands to the UK cycle industry.

Their list of brands includes CycleOps, PowerTap, Saris, FFWD, Ritchey, Marin, Stans No Tubes, Tern, Cipollini,DMT, Axiom, Challenge and Alé.
