The cycle hire operator at Beaulieu wants to stage a major festival of cycling in August 2002.

Beaulieu wants a bike show

The 8000-acre Beaulieu estate has many attractions (National Motor Museum, Palace House, Maritime Museum, abbey, monorail etc). Its smack in the middle of the New Forest which already attracts many cyclists.

The Beaulieu World of Cycling planned for 17-18th August 2002 may therefore be a welcome addition to the calender, especially as it will be a very broad-based event, suitable for attracting both enthusiasts and those dabbling at the edge.

The aim is to attract at least 10 000 visitors, all of whom would gain entrance to the rest of the attractions on the Beaulieu estate. Non-cyclists would also be on the estate on the same weekend and may therefore enter the various exhibitions and be turned on to cycling.
