Willem Vlok of Basta UK said the improved results are "surprising…[because of] FMD and downward trend of cycle sales."
"Due to this very positive trend we at Basta UK have decided to exhibit at the NEC and Harrogate cycle shows to support our current stockists. We will also be attending the London Cycling Show and will be showing the public what great and innovative products we have."
"One very surprising fact is that our dynamo sales has more than doubled for 2001 compared to 2000. I feel that cyclists are starting to trust dynamos more and more. Dynamos have improved over the last few years and at Axa-Basta we have really good dynamo products. We will also be launching some new products this year to enhance our already extensive range of battery lights. We have already prepared for the lock season that will start in March and will be launching some new advertising campaigns that will improve sales in store."
