Bafang will present the production versions of its M510RS and M560RS racing-sport eMTB drive systems at the Italian Bike Festival 2026 in Misano, Italy, from September 4 to 6.

The two systems were first shown as concepts at Eurobike 2025 and will arrive at IBF in production form, with test rides available at the show ahead of planned mass production in Q4 2026.

The RS range is positioned around Bafang’s “Rider-eBike-Road in One” development approach, with the company focusing on adaptive assistance, control and ride feel rather than headline output alone.

Development work included more than 4,000 hours of race and trail tuning, including use in the WES UCI E-MTB World Cup environment. Updates include higher-precision sensors, a six-axis IMU, revised control algorithms and the company’s Boost-to-Limit function.

Both systems use a shared RS architecture, including Sport+ adaptive assistance of up to 500%, Boost-to-Limit support of up to 800%, Hill Hold and Walk Assist 2.0. Bafang says the RS units offer 50% faster response and 33% more sensitive power cut-off than the standard M510 and M560 systems.

The M510RS is aimed at performance eMTBs and technical climbing, delivering 110Nm peak torque, rising to 120Nm to 130Nm with Boost-to-Limit. Maximum output is listed as 1,100W at 36V or 1,300W at 48V.

The M560RS is positioned for more extreme terrain, with 120Nm peak torque, rising to 140Nm to 150Nm with Boost-to-Limit. Claimed peak output is 1,400W at 36V or 1,700W at 48V, with versions planned for EU 25km/h and US 45km/h requirements.

For bicycle manufacturers, Bafang says both RS systems retain the same mounting interface as the existing M510 and M560, allowing compatibility with current frame platforms without changes to the motor mount.

Bafang will show the M510RS and M560RS at booth N8 during the Italian Bike Festival. The company will also offer test rides on the RS platform during the event.
