The Bicycle Association of Great Britain has resigned from COLIBI - Comité de Liaison de Fabricants Européens de Bicyclettes - the European trade organisation

BA snubs COLIBI

Eddie Eccleston, the BA’s vice president, led the move to resign from COLIBI. He believed it was too heavily biased in favour of manufacturers. Importers and assemblers weren’t getting a look in.

The BA remains a member of COLIPED, the European cycle accessories association.

Past BA president Mel Payne, now firmly part of the secretariat at Starley House, said recent overtures to COLIBI were rejected.

"[The BA] had no alternative but to resign from COLIBI with the proviso that if the constitution does change to reflect all our members we would rejoin," said Payne.
