Swiss cycling brand halts sales from the online fashion retailer in Switzerland

Assos v ASOS

ASOS is a global online fashion and beauty retailer which offers over 50,000 branded and own label product lines across womenswear, menswear, footwear, accessories, jewellery and beauty. But it’s not so hot on name searches, as it has just found out.

Thisismoney.co.uk reports that the retailer has been ordered to stop using its trademark on a vast array of products it sells in Switzerland thanks to a legal complaint from Assos, the Swiss clothing brand with a fiery bum balm.

The EU’s Harmonisation in the Internal Market agency ordered ASOS to stop using its name on the sale of footwear, clothing and cosmetics in Switzerland.

ASOS is understood to be fighting the ruling.
