Armstrong names ‘Tour Down Under’ as last non-US pro race

The Tour Down Under, running January 16th to 23rd, has been named as Lance Armstrong’s last non-domestic professional competition.

The 2009 instalment of the Tour Down Under saw both Armstrong’s comeback, following a two-year retirement from the professional circuit and also saw the debut of Team Radioshack – Armstrong’s own race team.

The race is to be Armstrong’s first in 2011 and the third time the Texan has competed. He said of the race: "I will never forget the reception we received in Adelaide when we kicked off the Livestrong global campaign. I look forward to racing and also checking in on the progress in South Australia."
