Red Bull 3º will take place in Shipyard Street, Newcastle on Tyne - not far from the domicile of BikeBiz.com - on September 6th. Top BMX Street stars have been invited but no news yet on which will attend.

After a trials event in Nottingham, Red Bull is now behind a BMX event in Newcastle

Red Bull 3º is a progressive BMX street event set in an industrial shipyard in Newcastle.

The event is set along a 150m slipway, traditionally used to launch ships into the Tyne. The course will integrate street obstacles with industrial debris from the shipyard, and is set against the backdrop of this fully operational dry dock.

Up to 40 BMXers are expected to compete.

One of the course designers was BMXer John Taylor:

“I’m excited to have [had] the chance to help design a street course, which is a little bit different from anything else.”

With a £3000 prize purse on offer the judges will be looking for use of course, magnitude of tricks, fluidity and creativity.
