Abus and Movistar Team extend partnership

Abus and the Movistar Team have extended their partnership.

Abus has been the official helmet and security partner of the Movistar Team since the 2017 season. In addition to brand strategy goals, which aim primarily at increasing international awareness and emotionalising the brand, the cooperation in the past three years has focused on product development.

Christian Rothe, member of the executive board of Abus, said: “Three very successful years were an excellent start of our collaboration, which were also very harmonic on a personal level. Successful for the Movistar Team and its riders, as well as for ABUS.

“We are seeing an effect on our brand, which is developing very positively in the European markets but also in North America and Asia-Pacific. And this relates to the complete Abus product range, from home to mobile security. Especially with our high-end helmets, we opened up a new product segment and now address even the most ambitious cyclists.

“We want to build on this success together with the Movistar Team over the next few years – the Abus pipeline of innovative projects is filled.”

Eusebio Unzué, general manager, Movistar Team added: “It is fantastic news for the team to renew the partnership with Abus. One of the best security and helmets companies in the world is the best possible partner we could have. Together, we are achieving amazing levels of helmets quality. Movistar Team is so proud to continue partnering with Abus.”
