Experienced Bike Mechanic

Company Description

Bikes N Gear is a family-run bike shop operating in Knutsford, Cheshire since 1991. The shop is a Shimano Service Centre and represents high-end brands including Wilier, Orbea, Scott, Whyte and Gusto.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Bike Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis.

Successful applicants will be Cytech Level Two qualified, be confident working independently, and be comfortable engaging with customers for both sales and service inquiries.

Applicants must have a passion for and a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Welcoming service customers upon arrival.
• Completing initial bike inspections and agreeing the scope of work.
• Diagnosing and completing repairs.
• Accurately complete job cards and workshop records.
• Assist with workshop scheduling, parts ordering and stock control.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop.
• Deliver consistently high standards of workmanship and customer care.
• New bike builds and supporting the handover process.
• Sales showroom cover during busy periods, including taking phone inquiries.

Requirements

• Minimum Cytech Level Two Certification (or equivalent)
• Experienced working in a professional cycle workshop.
• Organised, reliable and self-motivated.
• Experience working on e-bikes (ideally Bosch, TQ, Mahle)
• Basic computer skills
• Confident dealing with customers
• Attention to detail

• Hours: Tuesday – Saturday (09:30 to 17:00), Sunday-Monday (Off)
• Salary: Competitive based on experience
