Job Description: Store Manager
Location: Chapel Allerton, Leeds
Full time Permanent role (40 hours including weekend work)
Expected start date: April 2026
Giant Leeds is an exciting new addition to the Giant Store network. Opening in April, selling a wide range of Giant and Liv products, this store will break new ground and be an exciting place to work, forging new relationships with the community. Although a member of a wider group, the store will operate like an independent shop, and it will be your responsibility to deliver excellent customer experiences as well as coaching the team to do the same.
This is a hands-on Store Manager role for someone who knows what a great bike shop looks like and takes pride in running one. You’ll lead from the front on the shop floor, develop a knowledgeable team, and take full ownership of the store’s performance, culture, and reputation.
THE ROLE
As Store Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day success of the store. You will need to be able to make the store a commercial success while building a community and ensuring customers experience unparalleled service.
This is not a back-office role. You’ll be actively selling, coaching, problem-solving, and setting the standard every day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Customer Experience
- Leading from the front on the shop floor, delivering high-quality, sales
- Coach and develop the team’s product knowledge, sales skills, and confidence
- Build long-term customer relationships that drive repeat business and reputation
- Set the energy, pace, and tone of the store, especially during busy periods
Workshop Oversight
- Work closely with the workshop team to keep jobs flowing efficiently
- Ensure clear communication with customers is maintained
- Maintain a high standard of handovers and quality controlÂ
Store Operations & Standards
- Take ownership of daily store operations, routines, and standards
- A keen eye for cleanliness, merchandising, and stock availability
- Confident use of EPOS and retail systems
- Oversee stock control and accuracy
- Maintain a professional relationship with upper management, providing clear performance updates
People Leadership
- Build and retain a positive, high-performing team culture
- Coach, develop, and recognise your team
- Be responsible for onboarding and demonstration of our culture
- Create clarity around expectations and accountability
Community & Outreach
- Act as an ambassador within the local cycling community
- Support events, rides, and partnerships
- Be proactive on our social media platforms both through posts and through comments and messages.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Experience in store management. Ideally in a relevant field (i.e. specialist sports)
- Strong sales ability and relationship building skills
- Calm, organised leadership style
- High standards and attention to detail
- Genuine passion for cycling
- Some background in bike mechanics would be helpful
