BIDEX GmbH, operator of the industry-established BIDEX standard for digital product data, has announced a cooperation with the New Zealand company Bike Matrix.
The cooperation aims to expand the existing BIDEX product data standard to include bicycle parts and accessories, creating the basis for an even more comprehensive and future-proof data model in the bicycle industry.
Bike Matrix, founded by industry experts in Rotorua, New Zealand, has developed a globally unique platform that maps the compatibility of bicycle components across thousands of different standards. With a complex data model and detailed attribute logic, Bike Matrix enables precise statements about which parts fit which bicycle – from simple replacement parts to individual conversions.
“The digitalisation of the bicycle industry requires clear and uniform data structures,” says Lars Röttger, Managing Director of BIDEX GmbH.

By connecting Bike Matrix to online shops, B2B portals, workshops and POS systems, parts supply will become even more efficient and transparent in the future. Dealers, workshops and manufacturers will benefit from less uncertainty about parts compatibility, while end customers will gain confidence in choosing the right products.
