97 bikes stolen from Rotherham J E James

J E James has this morning told BikeBiz of what is says is the firm’s largest ever break in with nearly 100 bikes, all still boxed, stolen from its Rotherham depot.

Between the hours of 1.40AM and 4.00AM on Sunday morning one silver Transit van and one white Iveco transit van loaded up 97 bikes – all Giant and Dahon models.

Andy Liversidge of JE James Cycles said: "After the trauma of Sunday evening, the damage caused by the thieves is being fixed and extra precautions are promptly being put into place to stop such criminal activity.

"The thieves stole 97 bikes in total which makes this the biggest break in that we’ve ever experienced. The bikes were loaded in to two vans before the criminals fled the scene in the early hours of Sunday morning. One of the vans was a silver transit van, and the other was a white Iveco transit van. I’d like to inform our online customers that this will not effect our daily duties and orders will still be despatched and processed as normal. Any of our customers who have already placed orders that will be effected by this incident will be contacted as soon as possible.

"We cannot guarantee the frame numbers on the missing bikes at this stage, but we will update as soon as that information is available."

The stolen list:

Giant Talon 3 2010
16” x 3
18” x 33
20” x 36

Giant Talon 3 Womens 2010
13.5” x 1
16” x 4
18” x 1

Dahon Matrix Folding Bike 09
