S-Works bike nicked in broad daylight from Hargroves Cycles

£6,000 Specialized Enduro stolen from Swindon bicycle shop

Yesterday (May 6th 2014) a Specialized S-works Enduro FSR Carbon 2011 – Medium, retailing for £5,899, was stolen at approximately 11am from Hargroves Cycles’ Swindon store.

The male thief has been described as having an average build, wearing a baseball cap and black body warmer.

Hargroves Cycles said: "From viewing the CCTV footage we believe that he had a male accomplice who entered the store a minute prior to the thief and proceeded to distract staff to make his timely getaway. Police have been informed however as this is a very distinctive bike so we are asking bike shops to be vigilant."

According to the retailer, it has also heard that Halfords’ Swindon branch has recently experienced some bike thefts, so local bike retailers are urged to be on their guard.
