4Down wins Google adwords splurge

At the same awards bash an electric bicycle company won one of the runners’ up prizes in the green category.

4Down Distribution, founded in 2006, won the Google adwords campaign as one of the runners’ up in the main ‘start-up’ category. The overall winner, winning £50,000 in cash, was Bulldog Natural Grooming.

The awards presentation took place late last week at a black-tie ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel in London.

4Down’s Ian Morris, Dean Hearne and Dan Brown were present at the gala dinner, attended by 300 people.

4Down has a house BMX brand, United Bike Co.

Naomi Aptowitzer, founder of ZiPee Bikes of London, was pipped to the post by EaKo, a fire hose recycling company.

ZiPee Bikes is a social enterprise and also runs an educational arm, the People’s Environment Initiative, which aims to raise awareness of electric bikes through contact with schools, community groups and youth services.

Aptowitzer is also running an ‘Elect Electric’ campaign to get more electric bike charging points installed on public roads and buildings.
