This is the birthday cake supplied to the family partnership by NatWest bank. Ah, bless. No news on whether Hot Wheels' staff scoffed the lot to celebrate the contract to supply Center Parcs with bespoke Mongoose MTBs.

25-year old Hot Wheels wins Center Parcs deal

Hot Wheels has worked in partnership with Center Parcs and Pacific Cycle of the US – the Mongoose brand owner – to develop Center Parcs-specific bikes.

The new Mongoose Center Parcs bikes are based on the 2007 range of bikes available to UK IBDs. They have been modified to meet the specific requirements of the Center Parcs rental operation, including lights and racks and components chosen for their durability and reliability.

Hot Wheels big cheese Russell Merry said:

“We hope the new Mongoose bikes will be well received by Center Parcs guests and that will lead to an even more positive holiday experience overall."

Center Parcs will take delivery of the first batch of bikes in September. The previous bike contract holder was Dawes.

Jane Baxter, category buyer at Center Parcs, said:

“Cycling is at the very heart of the Center Parcs’ experience and therefore choosing the right brand, specification and supplier is a decision not taken lightly. During the tender process Hot Wheels demonstrated an ability to understand our operational requirements and were proactive in their approach to problem solving.”

Hot Wheels celebrates its 25th anniversary on August 10th. The family partnership expects to sell in excess of 60,000 bikes in 2006/7 model year.
