100-mile cycle race set for UK

The date for the East Midlands International CiCLE Classic one-day cycle race has been announced, according to this report from local paper Rutland Times.

The event, said to be Britain’s largest one-day cycle race, will take place Sunday April 26th between Oakham and Melton Mowbray.

The East Midlands Development Agency has revealed that it will be supporting a young regional team to take part in the race against experienced international riders.

The 100-mile route takes in roads as well as more gruelling treacherous farm tracks, and is expected to bring 200 riders to take part in the East Midlands-based race.
