Virgins and old hands apply here

Were getting a steady stream of emails and faxes for delegate places at the Dot.com seminars at the Cycle & Leisure Show. Most shops are sending at least two people.

The seminars last just 30-40 minutes and start at 12.30pm each day of the show. They are hosted by the creators of BIKEmagic.com who are able to talk about the power of the web in general or can discuss the nitty-gritty side of coding and getting logged on to search engines. There will also be different guest speakers each day and delegates are encouraged to come to the seminars with plenty of questions to task our experts.

BIKEmagic.com is aiming to be the main portal for web-savvy cyclists. Its not a back-bedroom organisation: the company received $1.5m in venture capital funding last year.

More information on what BIKEmagic.com is all about can be gleaned from this here press release. Its aimed at IBDs without websites and doesnt mention what BIKEmagic.com can do for shops whove already got sites. Perhaps Cullen Ward will discuss this angle on the bulletin board…

Press Release

FREE WEBSITE FOR YOUR SHOP

www.BIKEmagic.com is offering independent bike retailers the chance to get a presence on the internet for free. There are no catches, no hidden

charges, this offer is completely FREE and carries no obligation. You

don’t even need any experience of building websites to do it!

BIKEmagic, all things to all cyclists

IKEmagic is the UK’s largest on-line cycling resource with over 55,000

monthly visitors and a membership that is growing at over 30% every month.

BIKEmagic allows members to customise the site to their particular

interest – road riders can choose only to see road-related news and

features, in just the same way that a mountainbiker can choose not to see

local Time Trial results, etc. No matter which area of cycling your shop

specialises in we’ve got it covered.

Marketing your shop for FREE on the web

It makes absolute sense for your shop to have a presence on the internet,

to promote it to potential customers while they are browsing the web. But

why take the risk of building an expensive, independent website that will

not attract many visitors in its own right – without considerable

marketing spend – when you can build and host it for free on the biggest,

busiest cycling site in the UK, BIKEmagic for free?

Your website within BIKEmagic will be just the same as any other web site

on the internet except that it will be hosted on our super-fast, super

reliable web server and will benefit from our extensive marketing and

promotion planned for this year.

What do I need to do to get my free website on BIKEmagic?

Building a website using our Micro-site Wizard couldn’t be easier – you

need absolutely no website building experience. The Micro-site Wizard is a

step by step tool for building your website which will live on BIKEmagic.

For the full story come and see us at the NEC show this weekend. We will

be on the same stand as BicycleBusiness and will be happy to spend time going through your individual requirements face to face.
