Veteran cycling journalist Josh Patterson joins BikeRadar US

BikeRadar has bolstered its US team with Josh Patterson, former editor of Dirt Rag Magazine, joining as technical writer on September 17, the first day of Interbike.

Patterson holds a master’s degree in journalism, and he grew up working in bike shops. He is moving with his wife to Colorado to join the BikeRadar US staff of James Huang and Ben Delaney.

“Josh understands all the complexities of the bicycle and can clearly explain the pros and cons of any set-up to any level of rider,” said Delaney, editor in chief of BikeRadar US. “He can easily distinguish hype from substance, and his enthusiasm for riding bikes is contagious. We’re lucky to have him.”

Before his years at the helm of Dirt Rag, Patterson helped launch Cyclocross Magazine.

Patterson commented: “As a competitor, I respected BikeRadar for their honest, in-depth articles and product reviews. As a member of the BikeRadar US team I look forward to using my technical experience and passion for cycling to inform and inspire our readers.”

BikeRadar said that last month 2.65million readers visited the site, with more than 29.7 million pageviews, according to Comscore.

Patterson will be working closely with technical editor Huang (who has a master’s degree in materials science), who has spent more than ten years reporting on bikes and gear around the world.

With more than 10,000 products reviewed by this team of experts, BikeRadar is the rider’s best resource for news, information and recommendations on bikes and gear.
