“We wanted to help Movember engage male cyclists in a funny and memorable way. Auctioning 24 ct gold moustache bars seemed the right kind of ridiculous to get people talking about a really important issue. We spoke with Andrew Nethercot of Going Going Bike and he got behind it right away,” said Jacqui Shannon, organiser of London’s The Tweed Run, an annual bike ride for tweed-clad cyclists.
The bars are on display from 1st November in a plexiglas case at the bike workshop and cafe Look Mum No Hands in London from today until 28th of November.

The bars are from American manufacturer Velo Orange and were customised by London gold plater, Premier Platings Works and by Brooks, who supplied the bar wrap and the case. The new owner will receive a fresh roll of Brooks Leather tape with the bars at end of the auction in case they plan to use them.
Movember is an annual, month-long celebration of the moustache, highlighting men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer. To date, Movember has raised over £60 million globally for the fight against prostate cancer and depression in men.
