Unipublic has announced that Trek will become the official bicycle sponsor of the Tour of Spain, the Vuelta a España.
In conjunction with the race, the inaugural Trek Challenge, a four event competition open to the public, will be held at Madrid’s Jarama Racetrack on September 10th and 11th. The four events included in the Trek Challenge are a team and individual time trial, mountain bike race, and distance-covered event. All events are open to the public and each will feature different age groups and ability categories. Winners of each event will be awarded various prizes with the winner of the individual time trial receiving a Trek Madone.
Trek VP of Marketing and Product Development Joe Vadeboncoeur said:
“With Team RadioShack and Leopard Trek competing this year, becoming the official bicycle of the Vuelta takes our involvement another step further and is a sign of our company’s commitment to world class racing and events.
“The Trek Challenge is going to be an amazing addition to this year’s race and will offer everyone who attends or competes an unforgettable experience.”
