South West Wales launches new Legends Route

South West Wales is hoping to lure even more visitors to the area with the launch of a new Legends Cycle Route.

The recently announced route spans across the four counties of Neath Port Talbot, Swansea Bay, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, as part of Wales’ Year of Legends 2017 campaign.

The counties have compiled a history-rich cycle route, designed so that visitors can enjoy a cycle ride exploring just one county, or take in the whole lot on a four-day trip covering over 190km during a mini-break, starting from Afan Forest Park and finishing in the town of Fishguard.

The cycle route is suitable for all levels to explore; much of the route follows the National Cycle Network paths. Complete with downloadable guides, the cycle routes have been tailored to Google Maps, making the journey simpler to navigate. Other notable additions include transport links, local cycle hire and repair shops.

Welsh government economy and infrastructure secretary Ken Skates says: “2017 is about bringing our culture and heritage to the centre of our marketing. And it certainly isn’t about looking backwards: the Year of Legends is about bringing the past to life like never before, with cutting-edge innovation.”

For those wanting to try the entire Legends Cycle Route can visit the website here for more information.
