Rouleur Books links with Bloomsbury Publishing

Rouleur has partnered with Bloomsbury, the publishers of the Harry Potter series, among other best-sellers, in a move to broaden the worldwide reach of the cycling publisher’s book portfolio.

Rouleur Books will be produced and designed to the usual superlative standards by Guy Andrews and his team while Bloomsbury will provide the sales and marketing expertise.

Charlotte Croft, head of sport and fitness publishing at Bloomsbury, said: "Rouleur represents the best in cycling publishing – and we are proud to be working in partnership with such a highly distinguished and respected brand to ensure these books reach the widest possible audience. Stunning photography and gripping accounts mark Rouleur books out from the pack, and they have long been much admired and sought-after purchases for competitive athletes, keen amateur cyclists and armchair observers alike, making Rouleur books a must have for any cycling fan."

Bloomsbury is the second biggest sport publisher in the UK and cycling books are a rapidly expanding area of the market.

Guy Andrews, founder of Rouleur, says: "At Rouleur we’re delighted to become partners with Bloomsbury on our book portfolio. It raises our game considerably and will allow us to produce more books and to get them distributed to a wider audience with one of the biggest publishers in the world. We have some exciting and unique titles scheduled for the next few years and with increased interest in the world of cycle racing we’re looking forward to a very successful partnership."

The first title to be carried by Bloomsbury will be Coppi by Herbie Sykes and will be published in November 2012. The author will focus on how Fausto Coppi touched people’s lives, not the mythmaking following his death, through ten chapters, each with an introductory testimony from people he knew.

Also in November will be a full-updated new edition of Le Métier by Michael Barry.
