A trio of companies from the bicycle trade have bagged a spot on the latest Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100.
Rapha, Wiggle and Endura made the chart at 50, 91 and 97 respectively.
The companies were honoured for their impressive performance over the year. Founded by Simon Mottram in 2004, manufacturer Rapha Racing saw sales rise 72 per cent a year from £1.4 million in 2007 to £7 million in 2010.
Wiggle, established by Mitch Dall and Harvey Jones from their bike shop in 1999, saw sales increase 47 per cent from £17.5 million a year in 1007, to £55.6 million in 2010.
Endura, meanwhile, created by Jim McFarlane in 1992, grew 45 per cent a year from £3.4m in ’07 to £10.6m in 2010.
Demand for cycling gear ‘among men of a certain age’ was credited with helping the trio make their way into the prestigious list.
The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list is put together by Fast Track – a networking company focusing on top-performing private companies and entrepreneurs. Fast Track researches and publishes league tables with the Sunday Times, ranking the fastest growing to the biggest private companies.
