Rad Power Bikes introduces 2019 line-up

Rad Power Bikes has announced its 2019 line-up, including the new RadMini Step-Thru.

The range also features upgrades across the RadRover, RadWagon, RadMini, RadCity, and RadCity Step-Thru models.

It is scheduled to be released in January.

Mike Radenbaugh, co-founder and CEO of Rad Power Bikes, said: “By combining our pioneering expertise with valuable insights from our massive community of owners, each year we are able to design e-bikes that accelerate the adoption of fun and sustainable transportation.

“The 2019 lineup brings a number of new, unique enhancements that further drive durability, safety, and accessibility.”

The company has said the new RadMini Step-Thru has a lower standover height and more compact frame than the original RadMini.

With a robust folding mechanism, adjustable handlebar stem and new tyres, the RadMini Step-Thru is designed for both urban and adventure riding.

The original RadCity Step-Thru has a new colour option, available in black and pearl, and all models are equipped with new tyres, hand-selected through a partnership with Kenda.

The tyres feature Kenda’s K-Shield, which is a layer of aramid and ceramic particles inside the tyre under the tread area only.

There is also a reflective sidewall stripe around the head of the tyre for added visibility, and for the first time, the tail lights on all models are integrated into the battery pack and brakes.

The new tail light will also automatically turn on when the headlight is activated and still maintain its brake light functionality.

All 2019 models will incorporate seven-speed drivetrains with a 11-34T freewheel, and the line-up also features a ‘powerful’ motor, long-range battery, five levels of pedal-assistance and half-twist on-demand throttle.
