It’s been great to see the trade-specific items going up on the auction page but there have been a few too many bikes being placed that would be better suited to a public facing auction rather than a trade one.
Not so the bike that has just been posted. It’s a one off and, as the seller states, would be a good promotional bike. It’s the Kona used by team rider Scott Beaumont in World Cup Dual/slalom last season. How about if it was dressed in mud, placed on a diarama of pebbles, straw and mud, put in front of a pic of Beaumont and used to sell the Kona bikes behind it?
Here’s the auction text. The bidding starts at £500.
"1999 Kona MokoMoko, raced by Scott Beaumont in World Cup Dual/slalom last season. Frame 15 inch mokomoko with fox float RC shock, custom Marzocchi Z2 lites, Raceface DH crank with Blackspire slalom device & chainring, ESP 9.0 shifter & mech, Azonic shorty stem
& bars, SDG saddle. The wheels & brakes are not original ( Second Level Sport wanted to
keep the Hopes ) they are new Avid Arch Rival 50, With LX/mavic D521 wheels. This bike is
in excellent condition & would be great for racing or promotion purposes."
