VAM Performance has taken on trade distribution of Calgary, Alberta brand Porcelain Rocket – crafter of functional and lightweight bicycle packs for cycle commuters and expedition cyclotourists alike.
Mixing durability with style, the brand has developed a reputation for appearing on ‘that custom bike’ and popular with riders taking on trans-American trips.
Born in New Orleans, Scott Felter is the man behind the bags and has moved through road racing, local crits and MTB in northern Mississippi. The idea for Porcelain Rocket developed during his extensive cycle journeys across the US.
With ‘bikepacking’ gathering a following amongst a broad group of riders, a number of brands have worked together including Porcelain Rocket, The Radavist, Hunter Bikes, Inside Line Equipment and Moots to name a few.
Felter said: “As far as Porcelain Rocket is concerned, our focus has always been on overall quality, through attention to detail. Innovation and collaboration is also huge. Porcelain Rocket is a constant desire to be making and giving form to function. Exploration and adventure.
"Dynasties and empires lusted and searched the planet for the secrets of porcelain, and the rocket is as universal a symbol for exploration and playful, imaginative adventure as one can conjure.”
VAM Performance also brings Inside Line Equipment to the trade, a handmade range of back packs and bike bags. With Porcelain Rocket, the brands are a "perfect pairing", VAM said, completing its luggage offering to cyclists of all disciplines.
