On Your Bike closure confirmed

Letter from Peter Baker, editor of ‘On Your Bike’:

"After five, editorially outstanding issues, the EMAP Active publishing team has decided to cease producing the monthly title ‘On Your Bike’. This decision has been made due to lack of core bike advertising and less than satisfactory circulation figures.

"When we originally bought the title, it weas intended to strengthen our grip on the outdoor market and supply non-technical bike and route information to entry/mid level off road cyclists. We now realize that this market is over supplied and more fragmented than we first thought and a monthly magazine is not the best way to service these people’s needs.

"We shall continue to publish ‘The Family Cycling Guide’ [ed : meaning ‘The Family Cycling Trailguide]."

There are no staff redundancies, the editorial team will be spread around other EMAP Active magazines.
