New Dalby Trail Centre to hold open day

Dalby Bike Barn – the new trail centre in Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire – will be showcased to the public in an Open Day on Saturday October 13th.

The Dalby Bike Barn project was the result of a team up between the CTC, UK MTB brand Pace and the Forestry Commission at Dalby Forest.

Running from 10am to 5pm, the Open Day will give the public the chance to get a taste of what’s on offer with bike and latest kit demos. Free taster sessions of a brand new range of MTB skills development and group led rides that compliment the original core range of MTB courses and qualifications will be available too.

Pace will offer hire and sale of top-end machines and will run a fully equipped workshop where cycle technicians will be on hand to fix and service bikes.

“Dalby is a fantastic location with great facilities and a really friendly team," said CTC off-road officer Dan Cook. "We have the full array of bike trails from green to black and many routes off the beaten track for mountain bikers to explore. We offer the all-round MTB experience – for both the novice and the expert rider, who can test their skills on the World Cup cross-country course taking in Medusa’s Drop.”

The Dalby Bike Barn Open Day will also incorporate ‘Dalby 13’ – a mini northern cycle expo introducing 2013 road and off-road bikes, clothing and accessories. There will be discounts on equipment and bikes and the people behind the brands are on hand for a chat including Fox, Lezyne, 661, Lapierre, DTSwiss, SRAM, Exposure, Scott, Teva Shimano, Maxxis, Osprey, North Face, Santa Cruz, and of course, Pace.

Pre-registering for taster sessions is advised. Attendees can visit www.dalbybikebarn.co.uk to view taster programme and book their session by emailing dalby@ctc.org.uk
