Morris elected new chair of CTC board

Morris replaces Pete Latarche who has stepped down from the CTC’s national council after four years as chair.

Ted King retires from the post of vice president after almost 50 years in local and national CTC posts. He was awarded an MBE for his services to CTC in the Queen’s Birthday Honours last June.

Vice-president Pat Strauss now heads the commercial committee and Andy Cook, the cycling development committee. Colin Langdon continues to chair the campaigns and policy Committee in addition to becoming CTC vice-chair.

Morris is a short and long distance cyclist, using his bike locally and combining bike and rail to travel further afield. He is a regular Audax rider and has completed three Paris-Brest-Paris rides and hopes to complete the endurance event again this year.

He said: "Promotion of cycling is a key element in combating global warming in addition to the spin-off of improving the health of the nation. I want to help CTC consolidate its success over recent years, continue to provide excellent services to members and maintain its efforts to get more people on bikes in the UK."
