Mesh saddle wins ISPO award

Saddleco’s Flow saddle is the winner of the Coolmax Hardware Accessories Award. Other prize winning products in ISPO’s BrandNew-themed awards, now in their ninth year, include a golf-cart, a new form of wetsuit, a ski binding, and a GPS-equipped cell-phone.

The Flow saddle uses a thermoplastic elastomeric mesh – think trendy Swedish furniture – that is encapsulation molded into the perimeter in a hammock-like suspended surface.

The Ti model weighs 255 grams with a suggested retail of $150, the cromo railed version is 295 grams and has a suggested retail of $130.

It is distributed by MSG Bikes in the UK, AreaB in Italy, PC Sportech in Hong Kong, Bike & Hike in Singapore, and Mizutani Bicycle Company in Japan.

US bike-test website roadbikerider.com wrote:

“We´ve been numbed by countless claims from saddle makers promising magic throne comfort. We can’t say that we´ve tried them all. But we´ve ridden a lot of the new-generation saddles and the Flow comes the closest to provide a numb-free dismount at the end of the day.”
