Andrew Jones, the MP for Harrogate, Knaresborough and Boroughbridge, is the new parliamentary under secretary of state for transport with responsibility for cycling.

His other transport responsibilites include HS2, local transport and walking.

Jones was first appointed to the Department for Transport in May 2015 so his appointment is more of a reappointment but with further responsibilutues.

It’s likely most of his time will be spent on HS2, although he said "There are many other exciting opportunities in the portfolio. I am particularly interested in the sustainable transport section of the job.
