Maxxis, Giant and Merida have placed 6th, 11th and 15th respectively in Interbrand’s analysis of Taiwan’s twenty most vauable brands.
In collaboration with TAITRA and BusinesNext magazine, Interbrand compiled the list which is ordered by brand value.
To be eligable for listing, brands must have generated at least one third of its revenues outside Taiwan and at least 20 per cent of those revenues from own brand versus OEM.
Predictably the top five is made up of technlogy companies including ASUS, Acer and Trend Micro.
Brand values (all in USD) are as follows:
Maxxis: $346 million
Giant: $282 million
Merida: $185 million
A statement issued by Maxxis reads: "With distribution in over 150 countries, Maxxis maintains its numbr 12 position in the global tyre segment this year, while aiming to reach the tenth position by 2010."
