Madison now carries Kryptonite’s motorbike locks

Peter Zane, Kryptonite’s vice president said:

“CPK Moto was doing a good job for us, but decided to redirect their focus to their core business of tyres and replacement parts. Madison has been doing an excellent job representing Kryptonite in the UK’s bicycle marketplace for more than three years. It makes sense for us to consolidate our distribution channel in the UK with a company that has proven its success with Kryptonite products.”

Madison added a motorbike division last year, distributing SBS Brake Pads and Premier Helmets.

“Working with one company for both powersports and bicycle products, Kryptonite is able to insure brand consistency across both channels’ initiatives and promotions. We are also able to exploit synergies such as consolidated orders and combined shipments, which is beneficial to both companies,” said Zane.

Michael Zane, Peter’s older brother, developed the original bicycle U-lock in 1972. This morphed into the K-4 which inspired every other U-lock that followed. The company is headquartered in Canton, Massachusetts, and was aquired in August 2001 by US corporation Ingersoll-Rand.
