Madison Genesis takes overall Tour Series victory

The Madison-owned team, Madison Genesis took overall series victory at the Pearl Izumi Tour Series.

Comprising ten rounds over four weeks, Pearl Izumi was title sponsor for the third year in a row and the Madison-distributed brand will continue to support in 2016. The Madison Genesis riders showcased brands such as Lazer, Shimano, Park Tool, Continental and PRO during the riding.

The Matrix Fitness GP Series, running alongside the Tour Series, saw the Pearl Izumi Sports Tours International squad (also significantly supported by Madison) win the overall standings. Madison employee Clemence Copie, (Pearl Izumi Brand Manager) works full time and races for this women’s team, taking part in the victory.

Working with sister company Sportline and the Saracen bike brand, the Madison Saracen team has also seen successes in the UK and the World stage, with team rider Manon Carpenter claiming both the World Cup overall series and World Championship last year.

Madison said: "With a development team running alongside the Factory Race team, you can be sure that the next batch of UK talent will rise through the ranks to the forefront of the British downhill scene and will have the opportunity and backing to prove themselves in one of the best domestic downhill series in the world.

"Madison is incredibly proud to support cycling and racing throughout the UK and strives to develop new talent and provide support in every aspect possible."

Madison CEO Dominic Langan added: “A big driver in Madison owning the Madison Genesis and Madison Saracen teams is to help develop young riders with a professional team set up, with all the financial stresses and demands removed so they can focus 100% on the riding.

"Madison has a long and proud history of supporting home grown talent and events nationally, as well as British Cycling, which I see as an incredibly worthwhile investment in the future of our sport, the industry from which we enjoy our success and ultimately giving people the inspiration to ride bikes."
