London’s cycling commissioner to talk at “Copenhagenize” seminar

London’s Walking and Cycling Commissioner Will Norman is to give a talk at the "Cycling and Connectivity – Cities in Motion" seminar to be staged at the Danish Embassy in London next month.

"More and more cities have looked to Copenhagen and seen how cycling can be a practical, everyday means of transport, which everybody from children to grannies uses," says the seminar’s blurb. Speakers at the event will discuss how future cities might enable people to travel even more actively by bike, how this can help improve traffic safety, attract tourists and create healthy, people-friendly environments that can reduce congestion, pollution and carbon emission as well as help cities cope with growing populations and workforces."

As well as Will Norman the speakers include:

  • Gustav Friis, Project Manager, Smart Mobility, Aarhus Municipality
  • Ole Kassow, Founder, Cycling Without Age
  • Robin Snell, Founder of Robin Snell Architects and Partner of Bystrup Architects

The event – to be staged at the Royal Danish Embassy on 14th June – will be chaired by Dr. Tom Cohen, Senior Research Associate, UCL Centre for Transport Studies. Entry is free but requires registration.
