Stella Azzurra is based in the Brianza region, north of Milan, and is a family run concern.
The family in question being the Alberti’s. Ermano Alberti was the creator, in 1973, of the first bevel-cut padded handlebar tape, an innovation that has saved many a pro rider’s median nerves.
Stella Azzurra produces some trick, bang up-to-date handlebar tape but is now also noted for its stems and handlebars.
The ViceVersa stem, seen above in all its 100g glory, allows riders to alternate stem positions and is investment-cast from magnesium and fnished by CNC machining.
The Tirreno carbon handlebar, 280g and seen below, has ergonomic finger-grips to help pull harder when climbing.
Stefano Alberti, son of Ermano, and Stella Azzurra’s international sales director, said:
We are excited to be working with Lightbluecycles, and believe that our relationship will prove perfect for establishing our innovative range of specialist lightweight products within the UK market."
Some Stella Azzurra products were available from Extra UK but Lightbluecycles will be bringing in a wider selection.
Scott Greenwood of Lightbluecycles said:
Stella Azzurras commitment to quality and innovation will ensure that those dealers who stock Stella Azzurra products will benefit from the exclusivity and performance offered throughout the range, combined with the individual service provided by Lightbluecycles.
