LED lights up for Ispo award

Developed by father and son Rick and Brandon Smith of Utah the LEDByLite system is front and rear LED strip lighting. It was first seen at Interbike earlier this year, lighting up a few bikes on Bikehugger.com’s MobileSocial. The system will be available at retail early next year, priced at 75 Euros for an AA battery powered pack or 110 Euros for a rechargeable battery pack.

The system consists of four flexible waterproof silicon-encase LED strips, with white strips mounted in quick-release brackets on the front forks, and two red strips mounted to a bicycle’s rear stays.

LEDByLite has been nominated for an Ispo Brand New product innovation award, with the results announced in February.
