Lapierre release details of new Carbon full suspension E-bike

Lapierre has announced the release of a brand new Carbon full suspension E-bike called the Overvolt AM Carbon.

The key to the Lapierre Overvolt AM Carbon’s handling is in its lowered centre of gravity. The battery has been moved down against the motor and rotated forward, centralising mass in the frame for greater manoeuvrability both on the ground and in the air.

A slack, 66-degree head angle creates the stability fast descents demand, while at 73 degrees the steeper seat tube pushes weight onto the front wheel for planted, accurate steering on climbs. The chainstays are 5mm shorter than the aluminium bike’s to add further snap to the handling.

Lapierre had this to say: “The e-Bike category is one we see huge potential in and one we believe it is here to stay. The Overvolt was a very important project for us and the aim was clear from the start… to make an e-bike that rides like a standard mountain bike.

"Reducing weight was not the key focus and not the reason we used carbon. Using carbon allowed us to shape the frame and achieve the required battery positioning to get that so important low centre of gravity. The fact that the frame came out lighter was an added bonus and helps to furthermore improve handling”

Expect to see the Lapierre Overvolt Carbon in stores around September time with pricing TBC.
