IMBA UK to launch at Coed y Brenin Fat Tyre Festival

IMBA UK board members met in Macclesfield, Cheshire, on February 8th to set the action plan for the launch, including budget, membership packages and infrastructure. The basic membership cost for individuals will be £12 pounds, £20 pounds with third party liability insurance. Separate packages for club and commercial memberships will also be available.

Fat Tyre Festival organiser Pat Adams said he fully supports the IMBA UK launch.

In addition to the April launch, IMBA UK is planning six dedicated sign-up booths at key mountain biking events throughout the season, where people will be able to meet members of the Board to discuss access, trailbuilding or other mountain biking issues.

IMBA UK is an independent sister organisation to IMBA in the US and was set up by UK mountain bikers, trail builders and trail access advocates.

The following Mission Statement was agreed by the IMBA UK Board at the Macclesfield meeting:

IMBA UK promotes environmentally sound and socially responsible mountain biking.

IMBA UK works to keep trails and public access open for mountain biking by encouraging responsible riding, supporting volunteer trail work and cop-operating with trail user groups, land managers and public bodies.
