Grit.CX and Singletrack make string of appointments

Soon to launch cyclocross title Grit.cx has appointed a magazine and online editor, with parent company Singletrack also bolstering its staff.

Heading up Grit.cx online magazine will be Jeff Lockwood, a familiar name to many in the industry thanks to his prior role at Dirt Rag and as a correspondent for Singletrack and others in recent years. Jeff relocated to Belgium a few years ago and now has the unique perspective of being an east coast US rider now immersed in the centre of Belgium cyclocross culture.

Neil Webb takes on the online editor position and again will be familiar to many in the trade having formely been a brand manager at Madison and marketing contact at Evans. Webb has also previously held a technical writer role at Cycling Weekly.

The pair can be contacted at jeff@grit.cx and neil@grit.cx. Advertising enquiries should be directed to ads@grit.cx

Meanwhile, Singletrack has expanded its in-house editorial and tech teams. Joining Editorial as staff writer is Barney Marsh and expanding its software development team to three is Ali Chant.

Chipps Chippendale added: "Singletrack now has a payroll compliment of 17 plus three long-term freelance contractors. Dan Bladon also joins the editorial team as the resident teenage editorial apprentice. The magazine uses him extensively for cleaning bikes, fetching tea bags and for throwing down mountains on big bikes when everyone else is a bit scared – But it’s OK, cos his mum said she’s just glad he’s out of the house."
